T3 Telecom Software, Inc. Announces the Release of its Direct Cluster Networking Product at Acuta Annual Conference
New York, NY - July 10, 2008
T3 Telecom Software, Inc., a provider of integrated telephony solutions, is excited to announce the availability of its Direct Cluster Networking (DCN) product at the annual ACUTA conference from July 13-15 in Las Vegas.
Direct Cluster Networking minimizes unplanned and planned voice messaging downtime resulting from hardware failure, network outage or system maintenance through a unique cluster configuration of redundant and fully synchronized nodes. Each node maintains a complete T3main voicemail application, database and file system that resides on a single machine. Proprietary software synchronizes the multiple databases asynchronously, whenever a change occurs in one node. DCN is available in two configurations: "Active/Passive" for organizations that require a highly available system at a specific site and "All Active" for organizations that have multiple sites and require redundancy across the enterprise.
- No single point of failure: There are no individual components within the T3main that can result in a voicemail application failure. Should a voicemail server within the cluster fail, or if the network becomes unavailable, another node will take over.
- High Performance: The T3main uses MySQL database as the basis for its clustering solution. MySQL provides high performance with a unique storage-engine architecture, high availability, and web and data warehouse strength.
- Fault tolerance/Automatic recovery: Since each node can work independently, voicemail continues to operate across the organization should a node or nodes lose connectivity to the network. Data is synchronized automatically upon reconnection.
- Off the shelf components: The T3main utilizes standard servers, disk drives and network equipment and does not require a 3rd-party cluster engine and additional servers, SAN (storage area network device) or replicated file system.
- Multi-vendor environment: Each node can support independent PBX integrations and separate protocols such as TDM and SIP.
- Centralized administration: administers can make system-wide changes or view node status through any node.
- End user transparency: directory assistance is shared across nodes and users can access their mailbox from any node or send messages to a user on any node.
Edison Chouest Offshore has been using the T3main system since 2005 and recently implemented DCN. Edison Chouest Offshore (ECO) is the most technologically advanced and fastest-growing offshore vessel service company in the world. The corporate headquarters are located in Louisiana and the company has multiple sites domestically as well as offices worldwide. "The nature of our business means that telephone communication is of the utmost importance and our voicemail must be available at all times," stated Jody Bouvier, ECO, Telephone Network Administrator. "After we were impacted by Hurricane Katrina we needed a way to upgrade our disaster preparedness and T3main's DCN was able to provide us with the redundancy and scalability we needed for a highly available voice messaging application."
"As the need for disaster preparedness becomes more evident we've responded to market needs with a highly effective fault tolerance and redundancy solution," stated Yaniv Livneh, CEO of T3 Telecom Software. "We continuously strive to provide simple and cost-effective solutions to complex problems of which both large and small institutions can take advantage. DCN eliminates dependencies on high-cost equipment and middleware software, is highly scalable, and operates in conjunction with most phone switches, both TDM and VoIP."
T3 Telecom Software will be exhibiting with Clear Connection in booth 308. Through Clear Connection and its GSA contract, universities can purchase T3main systems at the lowest rates and through a highly simplified bidding process.
The 2008 conference is the 37th for ACUTA, the only international association dedicated to serving the needs of higher education communications technology professionals, representing nearly 2,000 individuals at some 770 institutions.
